Cruelty Free Post

I'm sick of insulting Logan. First of all, he's way too easy of a target. Second, I think he likes it. And finally, I have more important things on my mind, like my poor gimpy cat.

The cape is new. It keeps him from licking the top of the cast, as he is wont to do. (That position is comfortable for him, by the way.)

Isn't he adorable? That's a rhetorical question, of course:

Everyone at the vet thinks he's smart (which, as I established early on in this blog, is not the prevailing opinion on the subject). Actually, his primary doctor's specific words were, "He's a stinker," referring to the fact that he is so wily when it comes to getting rid of the cast, but many of the other staff have used the S word to describe him. I wish I had a video of when we brought him home with the cast for the first time: he kept trying to go through the cat door, which had been covered with a thick piece of gray plastic, by butting his head up against it. Repeatedly. Very cute. Not so smart.

Yes, I'm just going to continue blithely along as if I never said I was quitting. Wanna make something of it?

We went to the second of the three May weddings the weekend before last. It was in Utah, at Capitol Reef National Park. I won't bore you with details, but this picture, taken from the deck of the reception location, pretty much sums it up:

I know my mom is thinking about how much a little saturation would spice this baby up. I hope you can at least see that it would be amazing in person.

Here's the view from our room at Austin's Chuck Wagon Motel (yes, that name is for real):

And Tom Cruise stopped by for a visit:

Tom will be really mad when he finds out I posted a poofy-hair picture of him, but that's what he gets for looking at me like that (like I'm ridiculous) when I want to take a picture of the steps to our suite at Austin's CWM. They smelled like my favorite place in the world! (scroll down for the picture of my secret favorite place)

Yay! You're back! Although you should know that you've already lost the "Who Will Blog Longer" contest to me.

Victory is mine!

Logan,
You will always blog longer, and in greater detail. I'm not positive this makes you a winner.

Carolyn,
Kind of a jaw dropper at the end there. I didn't like how they crammed so much in, and the new developments with Rory are kind of unsettling. I feel unsure about the future integrity of the show.

Anonymous,
Thanks, mom.

This entire season it's been like the writers FORGOT who Rory was. (or the "new" suckass writers)

First she's having an affair with Dean. Then she breaks Marty's heart to date Logan who's sooo not interested in her. Then for some UNKNOWN reason that actor doesn't break her heart and leave the show but stays on for a zillion more episodes than he should have been and now they're in a serious relationship? And then she quits Yale? WHATEVER

And The whole Lorelai/Luke thing - ever since the two month "hiatus" their chemistry has totally sucked. He's been all weird and happy and in most of their conversations she isn't even listening to him at all. And the proposal didn't make any sense, she didn't even look like she really wanted to say it.

I am so done with them.

No reason for Rory to quit Yale, no reason for grandpa to do a 180 and let her move in, and no reason at all for Lorelai to propose!!!

So, you're not going to watch anymore? Or you're just going to pretend you're not watching anymore during the summer, then start again in the Fall? I'm trying to quit Alias right now and it's really hard. I need some pointers if you know how to do this. GG still has me hooked, but I'm definitely skeptical...

girl, i quit watching alias one episode into this season. haven't even been tempted since.

yes i am definitely claiming to be stopping for now. and i guess we'll see what happens in the fall. what i am hoping is that they'll switch time slots around and some show i actually LIKED this year will be on opposite it so it will be damn easy to say "SEE YA, GILMORE!!"

but that's probably too fucking optimistic of a dream...

wow, so glad I compulsively checked your blog and found it alive again! Ernie looks so ... sad. I do like that cape, though. The wedding pics look beautiful ... were the guests shocked that Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes/Lady Urs were there? Oh, and did anyone else here watch Britney and K-Fed's trainwreck of a show?

I can't believe you're back!! I am so excited. How did I miss this news for so long?

Those pictures look amazing.

I can't wait for you to get here next weekend! We will have to take photos and post dueling blog entries.

p.s. Tom is looking pretty hot there!

oops, one more thing for Amanda:
Though I appreciate the comment, Mike and I could never be Tom and Katie--we have a real relationship (with all the fixins, if you know what I mean...).

Carolyn,
I skipped Alias last night! and I missed America's Next Top Model, but it was for a very good cause--more on that later...

Ohh, I know where you were last night! My friend Rosalee was there, too, and said it was awesome.

Please, please post some witty commentary!

P.S. Are you trying to tell me that Mike is not gay?
